I'm wondering, how did some artist here make voxel models????? (and especially for 3dvoxelstein where there is a lot of stuff)
by a 3d formula (x,y,z) defining the shape + color??? (like in evaldraw) by using a special tool and doing cube by cube? :o :P or a tool that already contains some shapes (sphere ,square , ...) like mspaint ???
i'm curious...

Re: How Voxel models are build?
AFAIK most artists on this forum use the tools provided by Ken Silverman. Mainly the slab6 tool/editor, which can be found here : http://www.advsys.net/ken/download.htm#slab6

SLAB6 + POLY2VOX basically. Animations can be done with Animator (bundled with Voxelstein) or even Kwalk (bundled with Voxlap's source code)

Animator has rendered kwalk obsolete :P

These days, I've been creating KV6 models mostly in Evaldraw's 3d formula (x,y,z,&r,&g,&b) mode. Of course, formula mode is only useful if you know analytic geometry, trigonometry, and C programming.
You know, SLAB6 has several tools that let you draw models quickly. For faster molding than cube-by-cube, use the Home and End keys. Use Shift+Space to paint faster. Also, the mirror tool ('=') can save you a lot of time.

I used Evildraw basically for creating simple but large geometric forns that were tedious to build in by hand in SLAB6. Now everytime I feel like building something like a car, I load a parallelepiped into SLAB6 and start from there 8)

Show us your car! >:( :D

It's a Citroën CX minus everything characteristic of the Citroën CX, trust me you don't want to see that ;D

How Voxel models are build?
Sure we do! :D
and is it just me, or does the topic name sound kind of like "How do I shot web"?(JK, Spiderman reference)
