Sorry if this is the in the wrong place to be posted this thread. New here.
So I have just discovered duke3dw and have installed with with the HRP pack. However it keeps crashing on me, it runs for anywhere between a minute and one complete level. I have tried several changes to the settings however it still crashes. I have also looked through the log file and every time it comes up with the "Fatal Signal caught: SIGSEGV. Bailing out.", see attached log file for the rest.
Comp specs I am running is as follows:
Q6600 nVidia 7600GT 4gb Ram Win XP SP3
If there are any other details needed please let me know. Would love to be able to play Duke 3d again.

Re: Duke3dw Crashing
It's a long time since we had that error, years in fact. Not sure why you getting this error as your specs and log looks fine. Try installing an old graphics driver, somewhere around 175.19 as modern drivers play havoc with OpenGL sometimes. Your sound also, try using lower settings, like 8 bits, 8 voices etc. Drop your graphics to 1024x768 etc, fiddle with the settings as there is something thats not compatible somewhere. Stick to the internal maps until you find the problem as often some maps cause crashes for unknown reasons. Try starting with Playduke maybe, check on my site. Otherwise I'm out of suggestions.

I did mess around with a few of the settings, I found that running it on a 800 x 600 32bpp fullscreen setting seemed to work. Managed to get a couple of days by before it started over. I have tried again today (bought a new monitor yesterday) on an 1920 x 1080 32bpp. Got a level complete then it crashed again. I have noticed that every time that it crashes it seems to be just as i fire or trigger another sound (eg firing the shotgun, pressing a button etc). I will attach the current log file. Not sure if there will be any new information in there.
I didnt however do anything with the sound. I will try that out now and try again. I am inclined to think it might be a sound issue. Currently using Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 5.10.0.5319

Most of the crashes we've had over the past has been somehow related to the sound card. What you can try is the following: 'Start' - 'Run' - type in 'dxdiag' - click 'OK' - click on the 'Sound' tab at the top - move the bar from 'Full Acceleration' to 'Basic Acceleration' - click on 'Exit' Go try your game.
