Speaking of books about Build, I read the "Official Duke Nukem 3D Level Design Handbook" cover to cover 2 times when I was 12 and it never mentions the name Ken Silverman once. You should sue. :D

I don't have that book, but it wouldn't surprise me. I know that in "Prima's Duke Nukem 3D Construction Kit Unauthorized", my name appeared exactly once - in a low quality screenshot of Build's 2D edit mode. I'm guessing this lack of omission was an oversight on the author's part. : P

Actually, your name is in the official level design guide once in the exact same way. I didn't think that really counted though.
Mr. Matt Tagliaferri gave all the credit to other people at 3D Realms.
Also, in the middle of the short paragraph on the back of the book it says:
"Written in cooperation with 3D Realms and the maker of the Build engine...
Am I right to assume that this is a complete lie?

No, that is not a lie. I checked my records and I did in fact answer some questions for Matt while he was writing his book. While looking through my archives, I also found this:
From: Matt Tagliaferri
Date: August 28, 1996
To: Ken Silverman
Subject: Free stuff
The Duke book is done. It's called "The Duke Nukem 3d Level Editing Handbook", and should be in stores any day now.
Sybex asked me for the names and addresses of 10 people that helped with the book so they could get a free copy. I felt you qualified for this category, being the author of all the tools. Please send me your address and I'll include your name on the list.
thanx for a great engine!

I looked through all of my Duke paraphernalia and his book simply wasn't there. I am pretty good about not losing things, so I would have to assume that I never received a copy of the book.
