who has the source for redneck rampage series?
- rr was the zenith of the build engine games it needs opengl bad.
- Well if it is licensed (and I'm sure it is) asking for the source is illegal I believe and that means you won't get it but I'm not 100% sure on legal matters regarding source code release.
- Asking for licensed source is not illegal. Owning or obtaining source that you either don't own or hasn't been given to you by the license holder is illegal. I think that sounds right.
- Ya your right, they have to give you permision to own and use it
- Xatrix doesn't exist anymore, so you might have a bit of a job finding it.
Would be good though, especially if someone intergrated the Rides Again vehicle code with Duke3d or something. - If we ever saw the source licensed under the GPL, yes, it would be cool to see it show up. A Redneck Rampage port would likely be a fairly trivial task, what with the RR code being directly based off of the Duke code -- likewise, back-porting features would likely be equally trivial. The biggest problem I can foresee in a RR port would be that the sector-over-sector effects likely rely on the floor mirror effect in the engine, which is currently non-operational in Polymost.
The above is purely my speculation, of course. - multiple emaile requests to gray matter studios[what xatrix became] have yet to be responded to.maybe someone else would have more luck.
