Hello,
I have 3 problems when I use jfduke3d_src_20051009.zip and the patch:
-there is no music(but sounds)
-the mouse cursor is show during menu
-the game freeze my computer when I start a level
If I don't use the patch, I can play but:
-No music AND no sounds(can't use the sound option menu during game)
How to resolve this bug?
I must to use the old version to play in good conditions.
(I'm on Debian 3.1)

To make the music play, check your volme control

There is no MIDI playback on Linux (yet).

Open duke3d.cfg in ~/.jfduke3d and change the ControllerType setting to 1.

Hmm, intriguing. Something for me to look into.

Uncheck the ambient sounds in the sound submenu. You can do it manually in ~/.jfduke3d/DUKE3D.CFG by setting AmbienceToggle = 0.
