Hi, i have a problem with the shadow warrior music on jfsw. I can play ok, but I cant hear any music playing when Im playing the levels. I know its not a problem with the pc or the port, since I can hear music very well when I use the shareware version. But the full version doesnt play anything at all. Sounds are ok, but the music is unavailable. Does someone have a remedy for this?
thanks

Re: no music in jfsw
Let me guess, do you have the CD in the CD-tray?
The full version uses the CD tracks on the SW CD, while the shareware is using simple MIDI files.
So check the CD....(if you got one, and you better have one ;))

Yes, I have the original CD in its jewel case, which I bought very recently in fact. So, I just pop the cd in the drive and that's it? If so, srry for my noobiness. ;D

I put the cd on the tray and launched jfsw, and no music plays. What do I do? I would like to hear the music while playing shadow warrior with jfsw.

You could try to use another CD/DVD drive, if you have one. Because JFSW will always use the FIRST CD/DVD drive. As far as I know, you don't need any analoge/digital cable between the CD/DVD drive and the soundcard, so that's not the problem.

Is there a method for having the music play without having the cd in? And just out of curiosity, the music tracks in the cd are only about 14, are those the only music tracks you hear when playing the more than 14 levels in SW?

This makes no sense whatsoever, the shareware version plays midis, the full version plays cd tracks.

It makes sense in the way that for example, when I play duke3d with jfduke, I can hear the music playing without having the cd in, whereas when playing shadow warrior with jfsw, I cant hear any music. Only sounds.

Duke3D has no cd tracks, JFDuke3D plays the midi music stored into a grp file which's placed in your hard drive during installation. In other words, you don't need the Duke3D cd in order to hear music.

There are only 14 tracks on the CD. So, yes, that are all the tracks for the game.

Not really. There are 13 music tracks plus 1 inaudible data track.
are those the only music tracks you hear when playing the more than 14 levels in SW?
Yes.

oops...That are indeed 13 tracks! (and not 14). My wrong! :-[

Bring up Windows Volume Control and make sure you haven't got your CD audio set to mute...

Thanks for your suggestions, but I dont like having to have the CD in the tray in order to hear the music. Is there a way to rip the music info from the CD and copy it to the HD, so it can play without the disc in?
thanks

Um... no?

Umm.... why not?

Because that feature isn't done yet.

*incorrect buzzer*
The Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition CD has two tracks. The first is the data track. The second is a Red Book Audio version of Grabbag, although it is not played in-game.
JonoF, do you think you could add a feature that if the Atomic Edition CD is in the drive that the RBA Grabbag would play instead of the MIDI? (read: rip CD code out of SW, put into Duke3D, but only for GRABBAG.MID)

That's nitpicking. The audio track there is a red herring.

I said "Duke3D", not "Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition". My regular Duke3D CD has no tracks.
