I was playing the first level of the first episode...
There was the movie theater... I was on the bottom where the seats are and a mutant was shooting at me from the top (where the projector hole is), the thing is the moster (ehhhh... i really do not know most of the monster names), he was shooting though the glass without actually breaking it... really did the bullets use noclip cheat code when flying though the window?
PS: There should be a sticky_topic called bug reports....

I don't want to be an ass but... You should know that both Ken & JonoF will simply ignore bugs of that kind. They're working on the renderer, sound, multiplayer code but not AI and game's physics.

to bug-or not?
If this was being done by MICROSOFT, this would be a feature.

Awwwww.... that made me sad... {lol} really, all bugz should be dealt with...
Off Topic: There should be Ragdoll physics as well as collision detection, cuz that really will make 3D models look better in-game {I consider 3D model intersecting another model//sprite//wall a bug}
Phear Chyld at
Yes but...
Ragdoll Physics and collision detection would seriously detract from the original Duke3D. Because this port is trying to stay as true to the original as it can. All the new features you see in Unreal 2005, Doom3 and Halflife 2 will be in Duke Nukem Forever...scheduled for 2025 when aliens actually come to our planet and steal our chicks and turn the cops to pigs...=P

It should be included so (other) people could release addons supporting this feature. The port (itself) will be "Original" just, it should support "non-original" addons like 3D collision, physics, ragdoll physics and such. Hmm, state of the art lightning and shadows would also be nice... *drools*

Dont get me wrong...all that stuff would be awesome but that would be better suited to a mod of HL2 or somthing dont ya think. Or a whole new 3D engine. Which I dont think are in the works or ever will be. And as far as Duke Nukem Forever I think they should bundle a mod of Duke3D in there for makin us all wait a decade.

Indeed. Ah well.. as with most every modern port of an older game, the clueless will always request ridiculous things. :)

Ok... just I hate when a 3D model intersects something, really it does not look good (realistic) if half of the pigcop is fused with the wall. So, i want at least "basic" collision detection system so it would not happen. Or Option B: remove 3D model support....
Back to the topic of this tread: I found another bug, decals (bulletholes) sometimes create a box (white mostly) around them so you see a box and inside it is a bullet hole. Like what Windows 2000 does with 2D textures in games. It is a minor bug, but still annoying.

Build does no 3D model collision detection. It only does collision detection on the sprites the models replace, and consequently you will get instances where the sprite sticks into walls or whatnot. This isn't going to change unfortunately.

Oh my, you've found the super secret rendering bug that's existed since day one and already been hacked around for the next release. You scoundrel!
In case you're having trouble decyphering the sarcasm.. yes, everyone knows about this one and yes, it's already been "fixed." I've placed "fixed" in quotes simply because it's not really a fix per se, but rather a hack around the issue until the engine is capable of sorting sprites perfectly.
Nonetheless, the issue has been dealt with.

Obviously some people don't know about it, because its been asked many times before, and it will be asked about again.
I didn't realise there was a posting requirement of being "an elitist prick" to play the port and to post on the forums.
Im just glad JonoF is working on the port and not people like you, and i respect him for his patients with it and devotion to it. Duke really could make a comeback, but its people like you that are going to stop it in its tracks. No one wants to put up with some nerds sarcastic BS. Hey, maybe you know more about the engine than he does, and how to code, etc, but that doesn't mean you can rip on him when he is trying to help JonoF out by reporting possible bugs he see's, and it doesn't mean your a better player either.
It's not enough that your a prick on 3dr forums, and no one can say anything there because your a mod, but then you come here and act like a prick yet again? Atleast here i can say what everyone on the 3dr forum is thinking; Shut your mouth, and go get laid. If your so immature you can't help but act like a prick, then go back to high school or your parents basement, or whatever hole you came from.

Get bent. People like myself are furthering the community by developing things like EDuke32 while those like yourself have nothing to do but flame the people doing actual work. I should probably mention that for every time someone who didn't bother to read the forum they're posting to to see if a pretty obvious graphical glitch had been reported reposts a bug, I probably report twice as many legitimate issues.
..and I probably am a better player, but I'm not sure why you've brought that up. The only person who has ever beaten me was Ken himself. :)

I don't think u guys should be too demanding about the port because this game rocks even if it has it's minor bugs. OK, so BIG bugs can be annoying ... but why put ragdolls & physics into this great classic !? Sure it would be cool but don't u think stuff like that would really spoil the orginal feel of Duke 3d :D , so let JonoF continue with his awesome work and love him for it !!!

Invisible bug
A friend of mine complained about terrific slowdown in jfDuke while looking at the animated water. He plays on 1400 Duron/Geforce2MX400/1Gig RAM machine... I never had a bug of this kind, but I decided to check this out on my Athlon 64 2800+/Geforce3Ti200/512MB RAM... I've started "THE ABYSS" and turned framerate counter on... It's like ~250fps when looking everywhere but the water and 50fps looking at the animated water...
