Can anyone help me set up Shadow warrior? I'm not an expert at computers. I've downloaded and extracted the files needed to run JFShadowWarrior. What do I do now?

Re: New to JonoF
What part of the process did you not understand?.

I'ts 2 questions:
1.I've installed SW. Extracted the JonoF files. Now what?
2.I also want to install Wanton Destruction, but the 3d Realms site stated I needed an "unmodified" SW (originally installed ver. Not using JonoF) to install the expansion. The 3d realms site says once Wanton Destruction is installed I can use it in JonoF. But how do I do it?

To install JFSW:
1. Install the Shadow Warrior CD. 2. Then dump EVERYTHING except the SW.GRP file. 3. Download the JFSW files and put them where the SW.GRP file is. 4. You should now have:
5. Execute the Setup.exe 6. Select the Music, Sound and Video and select at least a 1024x768 resolution. 7. Select and setup your key and mouse inputs. 8. Save and run SW
This will now create the Sw.cfg file which you need.
At this point your graphics and stuff will look very bad, so exit the game and download the latest HRP (Hi Resolution Pack) which you can get from my site as a self install. http://www.proasm.com/files/sw/SwHrp20070106.zip This is a 26 meg file. Extract the content to any folder and execute the self installing SwHrp20070106.exe It will want to install it to C:\SW and if thats where you have your files then let it install else point it to where you do have your files. Once its installed, execute your Sw.exe and experience the hard work of JFSW and all who contributed.
Later you can goto my site http://www.proasm.com and get some TC's, maps and all sorts of extra's for JFSW, like give SWP.exe a go, its a extra on JFSW.

Also, to use the HRP pack you must choose a resolution in Music, Video & Sound in SETUP.EXE with 16bpp or 32 bpp at the end like 1024x768 32bpp. This is the amount of colors to use (just like Windows High and True colors). When you selected 16 or 32 bits colors, the game will use OpenGL and the HRP pack will work!
To get the classic look, choose one with 8 at the end like 1024x768 8bpp (for 256 colors). This will NOT use OpenGL but the classic render.

Yes correct, thanks for pointing that out, although you can select the Resolution and color density in game using the Options and Screen Menu. The latest JF code in Swp.exe has a lot of extra stuff.
Also the Wanton Destruction for JFSW is the 3 meg one on my site and not the 23 meg one as released by 3dr. The 23 meg one has 20 megs of stuff you already have and do not require + it has many bugs.
