Hello everybody, I'm a webmaster of FPS Ports website - a website about first-person shooter classics source ports, retexturing/remodelling projects, and so on.
First of all, thanks to JonoF for the excellent work done on jfDuke3d and JFShadowWarrior - these are the really good ones. I've tried to provide short instructions for jfDuke3d and JFShadowWarrior, so I would be glad if anybody could suggest any corrections/additions to them.
I'm also looking for every Duke3D and Shadow Warrior source modifications, any retexturing projects or any connected information. Can anybody help me with this please?

Among other tips you forgot to mention there's a major one called BUILD THE GODDAMN NODES for IWADS and PWADS ;D , failing to do so will cause some places on the maps to be displayed untextured. Use ZenNode for this task (dragging and dropping should be enough): www.mrousseau.org/programs/ZenNode
"Random sound pitch" adds to the cool, enable it, makes Doom sound a lil less monotone and forcing anisotropic filtering directly from video drivers takes the arse out of Legacy's mipmapping. Also, a lower value for hud translucency looks great.
The following "Additional Options" may improve your Legacy experience.
-mb 255: largest amount of memory Legacy can handle. With this setting you make sure Legacy will never crash when dealing with massive maps.
+bloodtime: one of the coolest things about Legacy would be it's blood splats. This setting makes blood decals on the walls last for an hour (3600 secs is the top)
+snd_channels 32: the more sounds the better (32 voices is the top)
+precachesound 1: with this setting all sounds are loaded as the game start allowing for smoother gameplay later on.
+con_speed 500: with this setting you don't have to wait a year for the console to come down.
+deathmatch 1: self-explanatory.
+solidcorpse 1: with this setting corpses can be gibbed down. Use it only in multiplayer games without monsters as some of them can't be walked over.
PD: I downloaded the CVS for Legacy 1.43 (win32), compiled it with speed optimizations, updated fmod, removed the fugly rocket/pistol decals, fixed the "-nocheckwadversion" bug and improved crosshair. If you wanna give it a go, drop me a line ;D

Thanks, Maren! I'll try these settings and add the info to the article ASAP. It will also be great to take a look at the optimized Doom Legacy version you are talking about.

Sorry about the delay, my phone wires were all rusted up and had to be replaced, plus my sister had a boobjob (she really needed it ;D ) and I moved to her flat to look after her kid during the postoperative. I'll PM you the download tomorrow when I get back home.
