I just recently got back into Shadow Warrior, and I just have a couple questions regarding JFSW.
First off, I want to thank all those who are contributing to the SW ports -- JonoF and Pro Asm especially. A couple years ago, I had quiet a hassle getting SW and DUKE 3D to work in XP. I was thrilled to find it so easy to get them working this time around. So thank you all.
I just have a few simple questions. I have spent a fair amount of time over the past weeks reading this forum for any news regarding the state of JFSW. I think I have a pretty good idea of what is going on, I just wanted someone to verify some things for me.
Multiplayer My main question is regarding multiplayer for SW. From what I can tell, there isn't anyway to play more than 2 players with current version of JFSW or SWP, correct? I have gathered that JonoF is planing on releasing multiplayer support when and if he finishes the next update for JFSW.
I also read somewhere on this forum that DosBox would work for 8 player netplay; however, I can't get dosbox to work with my copy of SW because the SW.exe is a win95 application and not DOS. If someone could clear that up for me, I would be most thankful. ;•)
General status of JonoF I guess things have been pretty quiet on this board of late? If there is any inside information that I missed, I would be glad to hear it.
Compiling JFSW source code I am just an amateur programmer, but I am somewhat interested in compiling JFSW source code myself. I tried the other day to get it to work, but kept running into errors. The main problem is that I don't really know how to go about doing it. If there is a "how to" somewhere that I missed, I would love to know where it. I tried to use openWatcom to get it to work, but I couldn't get anywhere. Help of any kind will be appreciated. Even if you tell me ,"You can't do it, so don't try" I will be thankful for the input. ;•)
Anyway, I have been thrilled with the work going on so far. It has been great to get to play SW and Duke 3D again -- even without netplay for SW.
Thanks, Flip Willie

You are not trying to run JFSW's sw.exe from DosBox are you? ;D

Ah, apparently, yes I was. Works fine after that (This is embarrassing). I meant to try the original .exe, I guess I had forgotten which folders I installed JFSW in. Thank you very much.
