I downloaded the previous build of the port with parkar and kild a tons' texture pack, and everything mostly worked fine. When I played user maps however, the textures would all become what they were originally (8-bit) and the monsters were no longer new models. The beginning menu and "Entering" screens looked older as well. Also the crosshair becomes yellow instead of the grayish color it is with the updated textures. I thought nothing of it, but the game started going back and forth between these two modes, which is odd. So I did a new install of everything and the new textures, etc were there. However, every time I update the port with the new build from Feb 16, the game goes back to the older looking mode. What could possibly be happening here?

I think the problem involves some guy named NickCel1 not reading the other threads describing and answering the exact same problem. Wait for the next version.

Problem after updating to new build
I can't find anything on here about that or how to fix it... are you being serious about having to wait for the next version?

^ Yeah he's serious. This version doesn't have .zip support.
You can either wait for the next version, or unzip both zip files in parkar and kild a tons' pack, put them in the Duke3d directory and run the game like that.

Thanks, I'll try that

Or use this until Jonothan can get the next version out.
Has bug fixes and some other stuff.

Does anyone want to try to play online tonight? I tried it with some of my friends but it didn't work... I read something about needing the 1.3d duke3d.grp file? I can start a public server on dukester X but it freezes on initcache

I would. But I dont think its going to work with my 56K modem. I wish I could get the damn bots to work thoe.
