"Failed to load TABLES.DAT!"
- Hi.
I've tried to compile the latest net_test-version in linux.
I downloaded both files (Source of jfduke and jfbuild)
Compiled them.
And got the error message: "Failed to load TABLES.DAT!" when running build or duke3d.
I extracted the file from the duke3d.grp and placed it to the same place I had compiled jfduke, no luck still. :/
The needed libraries (libsdl & GCC) are up to date.
Any idea what to do to get rid of the error? :) - Have you tried copying the entire duke3d.grp over?
- You mean copying duke3d.grp to the same folder that includes the duke3d-binary? In that case, Yes of course.
I was bored and tried the older version of the source (2004_blaablaa) and guess what?
It blanks the 320x230 resolution windows, and then says "ERROR: File 'LOOKUP.DAT' not found :D (And I have copied that file to the root folder as well, of course.)
Neither I am a very unlucky person, or just too dumb to operate computers. - Of for fuck sake!
I renamed the 'DUKE3D.GRP' to 'duke3d.grp' and everything seems to work just fine. :D
Damn. I guess I'll try the same thing with the latest version as well.
Case Closed! :) - yeah i had the same problem with a webpage i was designing in wordpad on my computer.
it worked just fine for me but when i uploaded it to the server and tried to browse it, it didn't like the pictures then i noticed that the .jpg files were actually .JPG files when i adjusted the html code for that it fixed the problem. thats my 1 complaint about unix
