I'd like to contribute to the high resolution pack for Duke3D, but I cannot post anything in the 3DRealms forums because Joe banned me. Can I post my contributions here instead?

Why were you banned?

Someone posted something like "I'll stop eating until DNF comes out", I replied "That's the kind of diet George and Joe should follow" and Joe banned me. I mailed him for explanations; he replied that I did nothing but being a troll in the forums for years and that was the last straw. I said it wasn't true, that my last post was just a joke and I asked him to unban me, but he didn't want to hear any reason and I'm still banned.

LOL! I suspect you singled out Joe and George because they are important people at 3DR, and not because they may be fat. The problem with your joke, unfortunately, is that both of them have weight issues ... or at least they did in 1996 when I last saw them. Maybe if you explain why you singled them out (which I assume is: "they are important"), Joe would let you back in. If not, then you can always sign up using another name. How about: "Evil Bastard"? : P

I tried to talk about it to Joe, but it's been useless.

I tried that too, but Joe can check the IPs of each subscriber and ignore subscription requests coming from a certain IP.

Did you try subscribing from a different machine? Or how about asking a friend do it for you?

i don't know what ISP connection you have but i have DSL and my IP address changes every few days. you should attempt to find out and if it does then you shouldn't have any problems creating a new account.
as far as being banned. its probably because they know their complete idiots and will NEVER EVER finish duke forever. i've seen games start and finish that now have sequals since duke forever started (max payne) it just proves to me that the duke team is a bunch of complete idiots. they need to hack the whole teem and hire one that can get the job done. if lucky maybe in a year they can finish the game. if they don't people may not be interested by the time its finished. i know i certainly am losing patience with them.

If you're on broadband it's very likely your IP is dynamic, delete all your cookies so you're not auto-logging in then try to sign up with a different email address. Joe can't "check the IPs of every subscriber coming in" -- Signups are script automated. There's always a way around it.

No I think he was banned because Joe is a jerk off. He's got no sense of humor, it's one of the reasons I don't post on the 3DR boards.
DNF will get finished, the question will be whether it will be a decent game.
Regardless this isn't the place to rant about DNF.

Don't say DNF will never come! NO NO NO I'm not listening! lalalala

I just wanted to point out that it's pretty pointless to discuss how to evade a ban on 3DR in a thread that a 3DR moderator has posted in(and therefore is obviously reading). It takes an absolutely incredible amount of misbehavior on 3DR to get anywhere near the point that Joe bans you, so don't go thinking that you were unfairly banned for nothing -- it isn't the truth.
