i've figured it out! for those of us who are WASD (or similar) + mouse fiends, the proper setup is as follows: under setup.exe -> input devices, first set all your primary keys, and just in case, clear all the secondary keys so there are no conflicts. input devices should be set to keyboard and mouse. you'll probably want to set left mouse button as fire and middle, right, etc as whatever you wish them to do. now click on the advanced... button and mouse y-axis scale to -1.0, mouse aiming mode to toggle, and set analogue x to analog_turning while analogue y will be analog_moving. the digitals need not be assigned anything. close and save the setup config and launch. in game, you might want to turn auto aiming off and adjust mouse sensitivity. i've included my config below. just copy the entire thing to sw.cfg and save and it should work. now.. if only we could get multiplayer working..
Hope it works, in any case good work, you're my hero!!!!!!!! :D

Phen, what type of mouse are you using? The reason I ask is this:
My PC with a ps2 ball mouse the solution you described worked flawlessly. My other PC with a newer USB optical (logitech mx-510 I think) after making the settings in the setup program I still had the same effect when pressing the "U" key for mouselook where it just kinda flipped out and mlook didnt work. I was able to make the setting stick after diddling the "U' key a few times tho. Same deal on my buddy's comp. also using a USB optical mouse.
Just curious the difference in ps2 or USB is part of the problem?
Thanks for the solution btw :) now I can really enjoy SW again!
