I remember, that some time ago i had high-res-textures in JFBuild. Now I reinstalled everything (Duke, the actual High-Res-Pack) and I just dont get JFBuild to use the Textures. (JfDuke works fine) I browsed this Forum but I didnt find anything about this. I know its possible so I hope someone can help me. Thanx

Sure you installed it, but did you install it RIGHT? I know this isn't very helpful, but it helps to go over exactly what you did in your mind and see if theres anything you did wrong, and if you still can't pick it out, post step-by-step what you did here so someone else can pick it out for you.

You need to change the bpp to 32 in build.cfg.

Using High-Res-Textures in JF Build
You are so good at this TX

So he should be. TX has been around since the start of Duke. You could probley say he is a Wise Man of Duke Nukem... Or some crap like that.
On a diff subject, Spike who is your internet provider and what connection have you got?
Spike at
My ISP is Orcon. I'm on a 256k down 128k up flat rate no slowdowns if i go over any limit like Xtra. $50 a month.
Edit: And yes TX you seem very wise. But you also sound pretty tired and washed out. I guess it must be frustrating to answer the same questions everyday all day. At least you don't seem to complain :)

Basically, that confirms he's been Duke-active since 1996.
That's what I call a true duker...

I took some time off in 1997 to meddle with Quake and Command & Conquer though, as well as some more time off in 2001 or so (basically, I got tired of Win9x, and at the time nothing NT ran Duke acceptably). This was when I was still doing the original Mapster (oh, how poorly that thing was coded).
Sometime after I switched to Linux full time (it was the latter half of 2002 and this machine hasn't booted Windows since), Ken released his NOLFB utility which gave me some hope that Duke might once again be playable on modern machines. In 2003, I remember practically shitting myself when I saw that the source had been released, especially after sitting through years and years of "please release the source!" threads, all met with responses such as "we aren't interested in that at this time."
On an unrelated note, I can still remember my first modding experience with Duke. It was a typical newbie "bullets make enemies explode" mod, which I was explaining how to perform to someone over the phone. As I recall, there was a bit of a misunderstanding re: "jibs" and "gibs" in that conversation.
Oh well, that's enough off-topic babble out of me for one post. :)

We applaud you TX for all the dedication and hard work you have put into Duke, *claps* People like you make the world keeeeep ooon spinning! I think when/if Duke Nukem Forever is realeased, a lot of people should come back to Duke. They will all be like, "hey, I remember playing some Duke3D back in the day, I wonder if anything is happening with that?" And there we go, we got some more commuity! [ramble] I hope theres some more New Zealanders, I never had a chance to play Duke online before. I wonder if in the future something like what happened to Duke will happen to Half-Life when it turns into 't3h g4y gfx'? (seeing as HL:S was such a flop) [/ramble]

There's some Aussies here that could probably join in to make it a trans-Tasman event without too much lag trouble.

Cool! As long as your nearer Brisbane or Sydney... thats great. No Perthians :P And I added you commander, I'm kungfu_noodle@hotmail.com. Too bad you are on 56k though. So far I've tried some US servers but DukesterX just hangs at 'Waiting for players...'
