I do not see the option in the setup for useing the mouse and joystick at the same time. Is this possiable? Right now I can not even get the game to start when I try to use the mouse. I want to use the joystick to move forward and backward and to strafe right and left. This is easy enough to do when I select Joystick and Keyboard. But I would like to use the mouse to look up and down and to look left and right which would also be used for turning. I think this works in Shadow warrior but have not tried it in a while. I should also mention that I have two mice and a track ball plugged in at the same time. One mouse is USB the TrackBall is USB and the other mouse is PS2 port. I really don't need the PS2 port mouse but I would think it would not make any diffrence ???
Any ideas on how to get this to work?

shadow warrrior doesnt support mouse and joystick at the same time. the old dos version didnt, anyway. there was a post from jonof on the 3DR forums about this when i mentioned it there, and i think his response was something like "i've tried it before and didnt work, have to rewrite loads of code to make it work". i would like to see the selection between mouse and joystick disappear completely, so you can use everything at the same time. dunno how much work that is, but in the end its all input thats translated to commands.

I agree 100% you should be able to use any input device. A lot of games that are current don't even support joystick at all.

Simultaneous mouse and joystick won't work properly until mouse aiming is done properly, ie. by making the look axis distinct from the up-down axis of the mouse/joystick. I had tried to do it before but it didn't work properly, but I intend to have another crack at it some time in the near future.

I've always played the DOS version of Duke Nukem 3D with the Keyboard - Flightstick option. Was just wondering if you think that eventually that will be supported in the port.

Why play with joystick, when WASD/Mouse config is so fast and easy to play

I have no problems with the flightstick I use (old Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro) . It controls all movements - aiming, jumping, crouching, strafing, turning & firing. Personal preference. I find it much easier to use than the WASD/mouse combo.

I play with a Nostromo Speedpad and Mouse and have no problems, works great.

You're right, thats personal preference. A friend of me played Duke3d with the Joypad too, but i never could understand this :D And then, when he starts to play deathmatches over network against me (playing with wasd/mouse) he suddenly changed to WASD too
I mostly play Duke3d in deathmatch mode, and with JonoFs port i prefer to play without autoaiming. I think playing with joystick/pad and without autoaim isn't really possible, unless you're a really skillfull player :) (try to play Quake2 deathmatch with your joystick  )
P.S I once played Duke3d with a steering wheel...man that was fun

I know most people don't understand the joystick trackball thing but it works better than WASD mouse once you get used to it. I use the joystick to go forward backward and straf right and left. I use the trackball for mouselook. I work with computers all day and WASD messes up my hands  I can get it to work in the Build ports with the use of JoytoKey or with the Saiteck software which lets me map joystick axis to keys. It is nice if a game just supports it naitive though :D
