At first, Im from germany.
That menas my english isn`t perfect,
but i hope you can understand it.
I have downloaded a Package with Duke Nukem 3D Atomic and a few Addos...
it is made with your OpenGl version.
My Problem:
If i set in options "OpenGl Polymost" and try to start - the screen swich Black like normaly if a game satrt - but than it switch back to Windows without any message or something.
If I remove the mark for "Fullscreen" so it starts in a Windows, than it starts, but have many Graphic problems.
I have made 3 Screenshots of them:
(Its hosted on my DSL Server with 128k upload, so give him time to load images)
Thats the Main Menu of Duke:

Thats ingame Whn I Shoot

Thats ingame if i just look around and dont shoot

I have also downloaded the latest release of your Tool from your page and insatlled it seperated with the duke3d.grp, with it i can play fullscreen but the same error like in the windows mode.
I have tested every avaible driver for my Voodoo 3 card.
I have now the latest Driver (29.06.05) and have Flashed my Graphic-Bios with the latest firmware. The card is now a bit faster but the same errors.
Other OpenGl applications work. and Direct3D is no problem too.
my System:
Windows 2000 Sp4 + latest updates
Gigabyte mainbaord with VIA Kt333 chipset
512 MB of DDR-RAM PC333
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ Palomino Core
3Dfx Voodoo 3 v2000 AGP 16MB-SD with latest Firmware&Driver
CreativeLabs SoundBlaster Live! Soundcard
before you ask why this old Graphic card... i had a Radeon 9700 Pro before, but this card damaged 2 times! Now i want just a graphic card which just work and dont die after 1 year in use ;-)
Is there a way to start it in Debug mode or any logs that could tell me about the errors ?
na Ok i hope anybody can help me with this problem.
ps: resulution is not decisive. its the same in 640x480 or 1024x768 and 800x600
If I play in Software Polymost it works perfect and very fast - but nah the old gaphic ;-)

I'm almost sure Jonathon posted some information about your problem, but I've found this quote from him sometime ago.
In any case, Voodoos aren't supported because I haven't been able to get a hold of one to test with in order to properly support them. You're probably going to have problems, and with a Voodoo 3, you're almost definitely going to have problems.
In short, he has not experienced Voodoo troubleshooting for his ports, so if you have a Voodoo card, you're definitely limited to play in 8-bit mode only.
Also, this thread will help you additionally about the port issues with Voodoo cards.
Hope this helps you out.

Did you say you downloaded Duke Nukem ///M-Power?

@fernando.
Thanks, maybe i can talk to Jonathon for a Devolper edition or something ?
To Make logs aber this errors and maybe he can fix it - so he dont need to put a voodoo card into his computer.
@The Commander,
Dont worry, i still have the original for years...
:) My first Duke Nukem 3D experience was with an 386 SX 25.. it wars very slow hehe.. but than i upgraded to a Pentium 75 and played it :)
I just downloaded it because it was a package with some Bonus Maps...
I have the Original Duke Nukem 3D, Nuclear winter , Atomic and a few CDs called "Super Duke Vol.x" . Im a leecher right - but not for Duke Nukem :) this game really rules.. i will pay for DN4Ever too...
Im not really a Gamer...I just game high quality games... not sucking games like Counter Strike etc ;)
so this way: It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all outta gum.

Unfortunately the only way for me to fix the problem you're having is to get my hands on a Voodoo 3 to see just what's special about its OpenGL driver. If a person owning a PCI Voodoo 3/4/5 wishes to lend it to me for a month or so, then that would be perfect. That way they get their card back with interest, and I'm not stuck with another piece of ancient hardware that will sit unused. I'm still keeping my eyes on Ebay for cards going cheap, but every auction so far has reached prices that are just foolish for such old and nasty devices. Is a Voodoo 3 2000 really worth much more than $60AU, shipped? Personally, I say no. It might be old and rare, but the only people still using them to this day are those who enjoy pain, or don't play games made since 2000.

Hi,
I wrote that i had a Radeon9700pro before.
I bought my Vooodoo 3 2000 16MB AGP2x from eBay.
i paid 3,60Ä inclusive shipping.
I dont know whats it in $ but i think its near the same.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32193&item=5221354615&rd=1 Maybe ask friendly for shipping into other countries. in eBay germany this cards u will get for the minimum 1Ä or 1$ ?
Sorry but i can't ship my card to you because i need the machine for my work :/
I have just a damaged Radeon 9700 pro with Graphic errors if you are interested in ;-)
I could imagine that u get worry because voodoo cards make often problems, its nothing for kiddies ;-) but i bought it because a 10 year warenty and its..hm i dont know the english word for...A Graphic board like Duke Nukem.. ah classic and still cool game...
The german word is "kult" like old movies... like Bud Spencer & Terrence Hill movies.. that are kult movies...old but still pretty good ;-)
and 60$ are too much!!! for this money u will get an 1-2 years old better card. im wondering about this price. Maybe really try to buy iwth PayPal or something in germany and ask for shipping to you.. with shipping costs maybe 5-8$ and thats okay..
The best is you can resell the card after testing and maybe you get more for it than you have payed ;-)

PCI models are far more expensive, so I may have to just accept that my GeForce 6800GT will have to be temporarily swapped out while 3dfx testing is in progress since the only machine with a (working) AGP slot is my main Win2k machine. I'll keep monitoring auctions in the meantime.
