I'm running Duke3D with the HRP and it runs really slow, it looks like the game is caching when I enter a new part of a map and it just freezes for a second or 2. Once I passed the cached part it runs smooth..
I already copied my opengl32.dll to the duke3d folder but it does not improve anything.
Is there a way to speed up the game? It is really anoying having to play my favorite game like this
I am running it on a PIII 800 with a Nvidia Gforce2 MX400.. already tried to disable shadows and run in 16bit but it is still slow..

Yesterday I put some work into improving the cache phase at the start of a level and now all the necessary textures for a map ought to be loaded before the level begins, so the next release should be far more smooth and jerkiness during the level ought to be far far less frequent.
