I've been playin about with build on and off now for a few years until I got XP, now that jfduke is here i've decided to go and try some of my old usermaps out.
Now the problem is that since I last used build I got a new keyboard which instead of having the "del" and "ins" keys one above the other, i just have one big "del" key, so i was just wondering if theres any way to make sector points without the ins key.
I've tried to get the keypad insert key to make points but to no avail.
please help me, are my days of building over?

Just noticed that build.cfg
is there a command for inserpoint so i can bind it to a differant key?

I haven't tried it, but perhaps you can use the Insert key on the numeric keypad.
It's the same as the 0 key, so try pressing Num Lock if it doesn't work.

infact u guys should try some of my maps i made years ago, they pretty much use every trick in the book. was making my own entire episodes but kinda stopped when i got XP for obvious reasons.
get me on msn if u wanna try, got about 5 or 6 so far including a cpl of converted doom maps using that doom map conversion tool, custom art files n everything :P
Havn't gone into code editing yet but i did once make those rubber bins spout health when blown up :P

If you have a somewhat recent joystick, or preferably mouse, you may be able to bind a key to Insert on that.
Otherwise you may want to experiment with one of these tools which lets you remap your keyboard.
(It's possible to do it manually from the Windows register... I'm assuming you're using Windows.)
Not exactly optimal solutions, but there they are.
