Has there ever been such a great deathmatch level as Heavy Metal in Shadow Warrior? Non stop action and plenty of powerups. Small enough to keep the action going, but big enough to run around and fight. Damn what a well made level! :mrgreen:

Perhaps not.
I have fond memories of that level as well, especially using the tank against my friend Captain_I.
Basically I owned him in that map until he figured out he could easily destroy the tank with a few well-placed Railgun shots, as long as I didn't spot him before he could shoot.
I used a lot of Repair Kits on that tank!
Then there's the time where he was inside the little hut thing with the first (single) player start Rocket Launcher, Fortune Cookie, and right outside, around the corner the steps where you can climb the tower.
I know he went inside, and closed the doors, so I just waited.
I made the perfect guestimate launching my nuke; he opened the door right before it flew through, closed the door again, but the thing was already in.
A big BOOM nicely contained inside the hut.
One of those many you-had-to-be-there-things on the map. :)
I plan on remaking this for UT2004, started it ages ago, but haven't really picked it up afterwards.

We made some DM maps for SW back in 1999, and played'em very much...more than the originals one's. The maps are mediumsized, they have a lot of powerups/nukes, and there are a lot of turretguns and a tank, it's some kind of Battlefield gameplay :D
I don't say they're as great as "Heavy Metal"...but there's a lot of fun! All the maps are good for 2-8 players i think, we played a lot of 8player matches over LAN back then...ah those were great times....(/dreams about 8player JFSW)
Anyway, we never released those maps to the public and i think now its the time 8)

Ah, good times! I have very fond memories of the Duke maps Faces of Death, L.A Rumble and Stadium :)

yess L.A Rumble was really fun with 4-8players...and omg the stadium..how i hated it with the autoaimed pistol :D

Yes the pistol and chaingun are the deadlest weapons with auto aim on.
