Wow, that's amazing! Come in and say hi or something.
I still don't believe am only JDuke server being hosted. There should be more, plus hosting a JDuke server isn't network hungry and no more than running say MSN Messenger.
I think it's because people aren't too fond of multiplayer. I just played a quickie with 1 AI Bot (that comes with JDuke).. and am telling you wow. This bot is like FAST! Lukily I still bet it 12-3 but it was FAST, CHALLENGING and SCARY!

Come guys. I want to test this DukesterX feature "Allow players to join while in-game server" option. I want to see if it works.

I think it's because there are only maybe 50 people still interested in Duke.
I like to think that maybe many would come back to Duke if the source projects had more exposure but the active communities seem to be pretty much limited to the 3DR boards.
Wouldn't be a bad idea for JonoF to post a message on BluesNews when he releases a new version either.
Unfortunately as it stands people seem to be more interested in more graphically advanced engines such as the horde of Quake/BSP based engines.
Regardless the bottom line is that the Build engine has a strong community, it's just not very large... at all...

I remember back in the good ol' days when so many people played Duke on Wireplay. I wonder if it's still up...

Yes, this is unfortunately the sad truth about the matter and anyone who dares mention this fact gets their heads bitten off.
I've seen some big names come and go thru "the lions den" only to be growled at and chased away - such a pity as this is one great game.

The real reason that multiplayer isn't popular is that multiplayer isn't very stable right now (times out and stuff, you need the exact same versions, no mods, etc.) and it isn't very accessible, either.
I suspect that once multiplayer is down solid, and it's easy to access (ie. from in-game menus, no /net /n0 127.0.0.1 /f2 stuff), then it'll be more popular. Hell, I have DSL with bandwidth to waste, I'll host a server, too; in the future.

Yes we still here. I just installed my Kali back and going to start to hit the chat channels and start spreading the word that DUKE is back. I am glad that it is, boy did I had fun back them on a 28.8 line lol. Now that I have an 8 Meg line and several dedicated server running on other games. I would like to know if there is a way to create a dedicated server with a map rotation , time limit, and frag limit. Also can the game be set so players can come in and out the game with out having to restart the game. Anyone with this information please post. I can host and leave a server running. At this moment my clan of 65 members is starting to make a come back to GOOD OLD DUKE3D. LOL!!!
