one: when will the in-game networking be finished? is it already under construction?
two: would it be able to make map-previews (as jpg pictures) for multiplayer? that would be an really nice thing!
three: would there ever be an dedicatet server for running duke-matches? this would be great!

1) It is working right now (badly)
2) ...
3) Use Dukester X or the ACRSetup to search or create servers...
OFFTOPIC: It would be nice if Dukester X and JFDuke were one and the same (same program) yet they are not...

Three Questions
Once i get DX2.0's main server tracker scripting code finished, JFDuke could use it to create and report in game activity to. However i believe there could be a security risk. As the source code to the JFDuke side will be public, it wouldnt take long for someone to hack and exploit it, finding possibly IP addresses, web addresses, methods of communication between the client and server tracker(s) etc.
I believe the best bet is to have the master server and game server browser separated out from the duke source.
However if JonoF believes it won't be a major issue, then go for it! 8)

ok, but with the master-server solution there is the problem on lan's! there i couldn't do a master-server! and otherwise tellin' everybody the server-ip is very uncomfortable!
i think, duke won't get more popular, if it doesn't have an easy to use networking!
AND I WAN'T IT TO GET MORE POPULAR!!!

Yes maybe you're right in some of your aspects... but:
Didn't we have the same problem of (for the noob) difficult networking under the original dos-version ?!!
- Don't change it too far in every little detail - that's my opinion about the project. The game was always great and ever will be - so I really think we do not need any big screens which organize Network/Internet play.
