Hello! I am a fan of Duke Nukem 3D, and I like your port :D
I have a question regarding the 3D modelling,
I know that the monsters, usable items, guns and other items like (bevarages, human bodyparts on plates, etc) are going to be recreated in pure 3D, but what about "map-build-in" 2D stuff (pipes, fans, fences, etc)? Are they going to remain 2D or not? How about textures being replaced by 3d models (like swithces and buttons)? Or all that can only be done by recreating the original maps? :?
PS,
Are the hud view going to differ from 3rd person view? Like in Quake in 1st person you see hud models but in 3rd person you see a deiferent weapon models? I think that 1st person view should be 3rd person with a modified camera "angle thing" allowing you to only see Dukes arms holding the gun.

Everythig what used to be a sprite in original DN3D can become a 3D model. Currently fans, switches, fire-extinguishers, water-hoses already are 3D models in DEVILX model pack.
Original distro has only 3D models for a pig-cop and for a hose (hydrant).

:D Good! Now, where can I get the model pack? There should be a link to the model pack on Jono's site.

There should be a link to the model pack on Jono's site.
I have just instituted a new personal rule: nothing gets linked on my site unless I've personally verified it's of good quality and easy enough for people to use. Otherwise I get bombarded with people emailing me with questions asking "How do I install the texture pack?" or "I see you have a texture pack on the site. Where can I get models from?" or "How do I install models?" These questions all incur at least a five day reply delay penalty since it's not part of my job to manage or support such things. When I review the texture pack, sort out the things that annoy me about the way the DEF file is done, apply some sanity to the textures that are ridiculously huge for little reason, and package it up in a single file, then I'll distribute it on my download page. Same goes for models. It's a time consuming job though.

rename the file duke3d.defsample into duke3d.def.
after launching the game make shure that in the video settings 32 bit poly most ist selected.
Now look at the pigcops.

But errors on a voodoo 3000 AGP (even with compatible driver
I use Voodoo 3000 AGP 16mb and AmigaSport , a really compatible driver. Anyway, duke3d fails to show up more than 8bit Polymost...... Do the 3dmodels get activated only with 32bit polymost modes?
It's just weird to use 16bit :( http://www.geocities.com/ivanrolim/duke3.jpg
Hope there is a fix :( Or at least a way to play duke3d in directx? I'm eager to see the cops!!

Question
Voodoo cards aren't supported. Anything less than a Voodoo4 has a 256x256 texture size limit, which is far too small for many of the textures used in Duke (HUD, etc), and I don't have access to one to begin getting Polymost working with them.

A) Switches aren't textures usually, there sprites!
B) Textures (like walls) will probably NEVER be 3d models.
C) Most pipes, fans, fences, are sprites, so they probably will become a 3d model soon.
