Sorry for my bad English. I have just test our program and it's fanstastic to replay to duke 3d on windows XP.
I just want to know if it's possible to play on multiplayer via ADSL and 2 computers.??? knowing the IP adress.
Thanks.

Of course it is :)
But you need to know the DOS commands! If I remember perfectly, here are the commands.
The server does that!: C:\duke3d\duke3d -net -n0:2 (2 is the number of players)
The clients do that: C:\duke3d\duke3d -net -n0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where x is the server IP.
I prefer Dukesterx :) PS: When PROXY support will be set in? It will be marvelous for some networks :) It's getting more 'common' because I have friends here with 3 pcs in just one house (but only max of 2 can connect directly to the internet behing a routerm with unique IPs) :?

Dear,
Thanks you for your information.
Just to known if I understand.
We are 3 friends (2 PC with XP and 1 PC with Windows 98se) all with ADSL connection. We want to play with ADSL everybody in her house.
I install Dukester X and if I understand I put "HOST" (my pc is the server?) and my friends must put "Join" and after we can play at 3. My friend must put my IP adress.
Is it ok??
Thanks you very much.
ps : I would like to play with other person but Dukester don't find any servers or player?? is it normal???
ivanrolim at
Yes it is :)
But remember, if you are going to be the server, you put HOST and wait for the others... they NEED TO PUT the last IP in the listbox (or anything that starts with 200, 201, 202.... ) don't let them choose 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x. because these will NOT work! Then put GAME OPTIONS and configure everything (no monsters, spawn all, advanced options -> Disable autoaim, Automatically upload maps...) I set all of these :)

The clients (your friends) need to put 'join' like you understood but they need to put JOIN MANUALLY after that. Then they JUST PUT your IP and press ok. Let the port at the default value (don't change them). They don't need to put '23513' neither the server name, for now.
The clients need to press 'READY' button in the bottom-right, and then you press START! :)
For about dukesterx not showing servers, Yes it's normal. I understand dukesterx was made for private client-server connections. At least until now :)
Yes, it's free :)) PS: sorry for the double post, I didn't see the 'delete post' option :/

Thank you very much... I think it better but I always Waiting for player...
I think it's because 8500 port is close...I test it with http://www.canyouseeme.org/
8501 : ok.
8500 : closed
But How can open this port??
Thanks a lot

Do you have a router???
If yes, you should let one of your friends be the host!
But if you want to open the port you have to go into your router options, sorry i can't explain very well in english...^^but it's something :D
