And once I get the Mac PPC modifications finished I bet it'll run on other PPC platforms too. The test will be if I can run it on the UltraSparc I have on loan here.

Yaay! It's always nice to see games get ported to other platforms especially one's with little mainstream support (like SkyOS). Any chances of a BeOS/Zeta port?

I was about to take a screenshot of it in BeOS 5 but discovered I'd somehow munged the partition table on the muckabout drive in my test machine. I can see I will have to set up each of these test OSes in disk images stored on my fileserver rather than install of them at once onto a single drive. In any case, the port does work in BeOS, though I'm not sure whether it still compiles "out of the box" currently because I haven't verified it in a few months. Thanks to the lovely SDL library, porting to x86 operating systems is a cakewalk if the OS provides a decent POSIX library. Porting the published games will be interesting I think when I get around to doing it.

Mac !
I've got 5 pc's and 1 apple ibook ... the sw port has givin me many hours of fun even after I tohught the game was dead forever online ..... but ! ... if a mac os/x port was to be created that was online compatible with pc version ... that would be good too :)

Because I can...
The ports of the games will all be network compatible if the data sets in use are all compatible.
Trying to get Solaris 9 x86 going on my test box to see if I can get the engine running on it. So far I've discovered I don't like Solaris 9.

Solaris 9 x86 http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/misc/sol9build.png
Got it working finally. Being a proper Unix, it is a bit different to what I'm used to with Linux and BSD but it's similar enough to get by, even though certain programs I frequently use on Linux are either named something else or don't exist. A bunch of environment jiggling, compilation of esound and libaudiofile (to satisfy the SDL library), and symlinking later I managed to get everything in order to have the compile succeed. The Solaris fans can have their own adventure when they want to run the port on their system.
heh. i love these screenshots :)
i havent used most of them tho (never even heard of 'syllable'...), but i like to install weird OS'es every once in a while ;). did you test the solaris one on an x86 box or on sparc? we have some sparc servers at the university if you want it tested on that XD

It would be good if you actually read what you're replying to... then you'd notice that he specifically said "Solaris 9 x86."

Still congrats to you, it's a lot of good work you've done. It's cool to see these games ported to other platforms, especially the more unusual ones. Suppose I'd better download the October version!
