Hi, it's me again, I've just turned my eyes from voxlap source(which is, as I didn't know very complex for me and I need my book to solve all the things!) with a litlle great idea. As I see voxlap usage of RAM is almost perfect, nothing you can cut and nothing you can get better. So, maybe you had this idea too, maybe it was long time ago and this days it's possible, so... when 75% of RAM is used, all other temporary storage is provided by nearest master host! Is it OK? Here's a diagram to let me show you how's it in my fantasy: http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/5607/3464jp6.png

Re: Possible( I said only possible) method how to solve the RAM problem of voxlap...
And in what fantasy world is it faster to authenticate against an external server and export data to it than to simply write to disk? This is why page files and swap partitions exist...

Wow! That’s an amazing idea! I can’t see how this can possibly go wrong. Please come back to this forum when you have modified the voxlap source so it works with your awesome idea :)

you're lammed by me, you all maybe think that I don't even know exactly what if does mean, but you're wrong, and to justify that, I know what to do: I will do that, really, no joke, you want to make that work by me, so OK. I will do that, idiot.(sry)

I can see how you find my last post a bit harsh. But the fact is, that you have stated many times that you can’t program , and that you hardly know anything about voxels or voxlap. Yet you keep posting ideas like this. It becomes a bit hard to take it seriously.
You state that YOU DO KNOW what you are doing. Maybe you can elaborate your plan a little further ? I have a few questions :
1.) why is this better then writing to the harddisk ? (TX mentioned this too) 2.) have you thought about the read/write speed ? it’s probably not fast enough to do realtime. So what’s your solution ?

OK: 1.)I'll explain below 2.) I don't have to think about read or writing speed, if you have good connection it'll help you much better. The servers are huge, unprivate computers(I'm not talking about virtual servers now) and of course, they have much faster hard disc(s) so that's not a real problem. And: 3.) I know what am I talking about, but ya' know, I'm not as good in english so I can't explain the ideas I have as they are. It is possible that you understand that what I wrote, but that, that I wrote doesn't relate the idea I have:( I'm sorry.

Well, the read/write speed does matter. First of all, even if we ignore the download speed, the current state of harddisk read/write speed makes it too slow to use this solution realtime. On top of that (to make it even worse) we have the download speed. Even with the fastes connection possible it's still way too slow. Seriously.

I think it's pretty obvious that guy is a fairly well disguised troll, so you'd better save your breath. :D Someone, out there, is laughing.
